Ms. Ulrika Larpes has acted as a legal counsel and Attorney-at-Law for business corporations and law offices and in Ministry of Transport and Communication and in MInistry of Justice. Since the beginning, the operations and services we offer have focused on the legal services needed by companies. Our clientele consists of Finnish and international companies and their owners.

We also represent foreign companies in their investments and operations in Finland. This includes drafting commercial contracts, employent contracts including joint ventures, different consortium agreements and contracting and sub-contracting agreements, and also procurement and delivery agreements as well as consulting in these issues-

Graduated 1990 from Helsinki University (Master of Laws) and the University of Lund, Sweden in 1985 (Master of Laws). Specialised in litigation and commercial law as well as maritime, transport, insurance, contract- and tort law. Also risk management and employment law.

2009 -      Ulrika Larpes Attorneys Ltd.

Since December 2009 engaged in her own Attorney-at-Law firm practise and since autumn 2015 in co-operation with Jari Sotka Attorneys Ltd., both attorneys having their office premises at Olympiaranta 3, 00140, Helsinki.

Ulrika also has some positions of trust such as the trustee and board member of the foundation Varustamosäätiö.

2007 – 2009 Shipping Enterprise Finstaship (today called: Arctia Ltd.) as a Legal Director

In charge of legal affaires and risk management. Providing legal advice to the four business units; commercial negotiations, co-operation with Nordic business partners. Also development of the risk management of the business units. Commercial law and Charterparty issues, employment law issues and negotiations with labour unions within the maritime sector.

2001 – 2007 -  Oy Gard (Baltic) Ab as Claims executive, Lawyer

Gard (Baltic) Ab is a Norwegian subsidiary controlled by the Norwegian global marine- and liability insurance provider named as Assuranceföreningen Gard AS. As a member of a global team of lawyers she provided legal advice to customers, i.e. mainly shipping companies and their representatives. Also claims handling, mainly within the liability insurance sector. She was focused on the co-operation with Gard lawyers in London and Norway when developing the legal advice service and risk management issues in Finland. Also lecturing to clients and colleagues on charterparty issues and liability and loss prevention together with other experts within Gard AS.

1997 – 2000 at the Ministry of Transport and Communication; Senior governmental secretary (Vanhempi hallitussihteeri)

Responsible of the (Scandinavian) Maritime Code and its liability issues and the Nordic co-operation as well as the international co-operation in relation thereto.

1996 – 1997 at the Ministry of Justice and its European Law Unit; Legal drafting secretary (Lainsäädäntösihteeri)

Drafting of opinions of Community institutional law and participating in the preparation of the processes pending at the Commission or at the European Court of Justice.
